Undelete video on a camcorder?

Hi,

I accidentally deleted a very very important video (avchd) from my Sony HXR-MC50E. I didn't use it since, so there's no risk the hidden file get overwritten.

Is there a way to undelete it?

I'm using a MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard) and I can also use a MacBook 10.5.8.

Sandisk have provided an undelete program to recover files from their SDHC cards in the past. That may be an avenue to explore if you have one of their cards.

Is it on an internal hard drive?

Perhaps Micromat's Techtool pro or Prosoft Engineerings's data rescue might be able to fix it.

Googling for recovery software brought up some freeware and shareware but I'm wary of such programs.

It was in in an embedded flash memory...
