Under ios6 will I be able to unify iMessage and my phone number?

Unlikely as you'll probably need an iPhone to attach a phone number to imessages

How would you verify your phone number with Apple when you don't have an iPhone? You can probably put your SIM card in a friends iPhone but that might mess up his iMessage verification (see the problem with the lost iPhones).
