Understanding iCloud Family Sharing

This looks like a good option but I need some help understanding a few thing

Really I just want to just have extra space for all of us on our already existing Apple ID's

I don't want to share purchases - although can this be optional with each purchase?

I also don't really want find my iPhone on. Is this optional or always on automatically?

What happens to our current Apple ID's and existing photos?

Basically what is and isn't private and separate?

Everything is private and separated.

[doublepost=1528401268][/doublepost]And unless you create a family shared folder and put photos you want to share in that special folder, your photos are also always totally separated.

All your data in your iCloud will still be private.
