Understanding pinning widgets

What does pinning do in terms of the widgets? I don't see any difference between pinning and not pinning

I understand pinning, I just don't understand the specific function here. I see no difference

For me, i pin one widget and it always there first in the row. The rest are widget suggestions doing their thing.

That's the detail I wasn't noticing since I was pinning everything at once. Thanks, now it makes sense
