Let's make a list of anything that has changed that was not documented in the version notes.
It destroys all unlocked iPhones and trashes all third party apps. The notes said "likely" - There's no "likely" about it.
At full brightness on my 7 series screen iPhone, bought on iDay, there is no longer the white checkered pattern on black backgrounds. It didn't bother me before, but i can say objectively that it is gone now.
You can choose which alert you want for texts now
Besides a louder speakerphone speaker, music playback is no longer sourly distorted, at least in my experience.
And a grossly unarticulated fix is the Safari stability. Whenever I would attempt to load Macrumors on EDGE or WiFi (and many other sites) while listening to music, at some point during the page load the music would cease, then within seconds Safari would crash. This alone was worth departing with AppTap.
On your individual contacts, it now says "Default" on each person that doesn't have an assigned ringtone. IIRC, that wasn't there before.
Yahoo Push Mail On/Off switch in the Advance menu
you couldn't see the thread i made on this topic a 1/2 hour earlier?
You can now specify a port in the incoming/outgoing email settings. No colon after the server named needed.
unlock screen is now the same brightness as the home screen. used to be that the unlock screen was bright no matter what and then when you slide to unlock it got dimmer. now its all the same brightness.
If you are sending a text and it fails to send the message gets dropped to the bottom of the list and says error sending message.
It appears that the password protect slight system delay is fixed -- more immediately responsive now.
not only do the speakers sound better, my regular 3.5mm headphone plug now fits!!
(yeah, right )
Some YouTube alerts have changed. They are more specific, like "Video Unavailable: This video currently does not support iPhone."
The Weather stays on the last city you were viewing, instead of reverting to the first city.
I can rearrange the order on my Stocks list now. (Did the icon change slightly? It looks like they added months to it.)
Earpiece is considerably louder. Speaker phone/ringer are marginally louder. (in my experience)
And finally, the Safari screen orientation with multiple windows bug is fixed!! All windows display correctly when you change the orientation between switching pages. (No more not being able to activate the red x)
The iPod no longer gives me the option of deleting a video to conserve space after I've viewed it.
I knew something was different about my screen... I'm glad I didn't take it back just for the dots.
ipod playing+safari stability seems GREATLY increased!
i was loading 4 big web pages while playing music and also bringing up ipod controls with no crash yet!
My favorite one so far . . . you can now set a "reply to" address when using the Yahoo! push account.
Another one (this was posted on BGReport but I haven't yet tested myself): you can now open .wav and .mp3 attachments sent via e-mail.
Oh? I"m not seeing how to do this. Can you provide more detail?
It is getting it from one of two places, I'm not sure which right now. Either it will use whatever you have set in the "Name" filed in the Yahoo! account settings as your reply to address OR it is taking it from the "reply to" setting on the Yahoo! Mail web options page. Neither worked in previous iPhone builds.
while using the keyboard if you hold some keys (o, e, etc...) you get a pop-up menu for accents and alts.
You can now enable developer mode in safari!
On-the-Go playlist creation. Not sure if it's new, but I never used it (noticed it) before.
That has been there since 1.0 lol!
