I am looking at the following ram

http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=1241198818F&vpn=M25664F50&manufacture=KINGSTON

which i believe is good however i do remember reading that there were disadvantages to having unequal amounts of ram in each slot is this correct and what are the disadvantages?

thanks for your help

It just won't run dual channel mode. I'm not completely sure if it will use 2.5GB correctly, you may just want to buy two of those

so ideally its better to have two of the same ram but either way i should see a performance boost correct?

Thats good to hear so I guess i just have one more question

would u recommend the 2gb bit of ram in one slot matched with the 512mb

or

two slots of 1gb ram?
