From yesterday my daughter's iphone 8 has been littered with these events in her calendar. She pointed out a virus warning message a couple of days ago, but I assumed it was just a pop-up from a site and told her to back out of it, but now it's littering her calendar, so it's more likely a dodgy app that she inadvertently gave permissions to, since iOS is relatively secure.

I'm not familiar with how to track it down and delete it in iOS, or what I need to do to get rid.

Can anyone help?

If your daughter doesn't have something like Adguard installed on her phone, it might be a good idea to consider. While it probably won't prevent something like this from happening again 100%, it will surely lessen the odds, given how it helps to protect against sketchy websites etc.
