unhiding status bar in yosemite public beta

anyone able to help me get my autohiding status bars in safari and chrome to stop hiding ;-)

I need the status bar to be anchored permanently as was previously the case...and I can only see how to permanently view the bookmarks bar only.

1. There's no status bar for Google Chrome
2. I had no issue leaving Status Bar on for Safari, it remains shown after relaunching Safari.

Safari
View -> Show Status Bar

or use shortcut Command + /
