UNI-MBP and Sony LCD

Im not sure if I have something set wrong or what but...

I have a 1080P sony TV, and a unibody MBP. When I hook the two up to eachother via hdmi to dvi and set the RES to 1920x1080p it looks terrible. Very pixelated and just jagged looking.

Is this just how it is?

it is off. Im not sure how a MBP could mirror 1080p onto a monitor as the MBP screen is only 1440x900?

Either way the tv says 1080 coming into it, as well as the syspref on the laptop.

i have the same issue. had to set to mirror, tho, to watch netfix movie full screen since i couldn't get it full screen on the tv, just the MBP. the colors were way off on the tv too. guess i have to play with the colorsync profile a bit.
