Oh the best bit was the fact that he said he couldn't show me the interface because they had one of their screensaver things running which just displayed on the screen and didn't let you do anything. I just pulled magsafe adapter out in front of him (there was no battery in it) and stuck it back in, straight into the OS. :)

Hahahaha, nice one :D

Ok, so I purchased a white 2.0GHz MacBook today!! :) and I love it already. Finding it a little hard to get used to, as I've always had a windows os. I'm a little worried about how hot the actual notebook is though  - it's extremely hot... is that normal :(

Hope you used the education discount! Judging by your comment about the IBM discounts, I'm guessing you're at ECU - you can't go wrong with a Mac. I'm in WA too, doing Journalism and PR at Curtin - Haven't actually used my Macbook (White, 2.0GHz) yet, as I used a Tablet PC throughout first year...

You'll love it!

I just downloaded a temperature monitor and it says my macbook is at 48 degrees celcius...and im guessing thats 120 fahrenheit? That's not good is it :( I'm only running microsoft messenger and this window. Is there anything I can do to cool it down?

That seems alright to me....my temperatures are in the high 50's (Celsius) and the macbook is still quite cool to the touch.

I downloaded a program called smcFanControl and I set fan#1 to 3000rpm...except the 2nd fan isn't even visible and there's no way I can set it... is that bad  ... Does any1 else use smcFanControl... and what settings do you have? .... My macbook has cooled down a little since I installed the program.
