I'm with you
Dude, I love the internet for that quick self-assurance that I'm not going crazy. I was seeing the same thing when I looked at my keyboard too, so of course I searched it up to know if anyone else was seeing those dots. (I'm not tripping balls)
Try this: Search anything in Google, someone has already thought/done that something. Try it! Not only have they thought about it, but they also took the time to post it online....here's the best part: this phenomenon has always been true--the internet is just revealing the interconnectedness and spontaneity of ideas. (Kinda like the whole egyptian pyramid/mayan temple concept). All the human brains in the world are just part of a larger organism - Dare I call it, the master brain. And regretfully, to quote Holleywood:
Dom Cobb: What is the most resilient parasite? A bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm?
Arthur: Ah, what Mr Cobb is trying to...
Dom Cobb: An idea. Resilient, highly contagious. Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it's almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed, fully understood. That sticks, right in there somewhere.
[he points to his head]
(Inception)
At this point in evolution, I no longer see individual innovation as competitive...it's going to take larger and larger efficient teams of thinkers to create new innovation. Meaning, my idea, your idea, and your mother-in-law's idea has already been thought of...Just "google" it. To come up with new ideas, you have to be:
a) Albert Einstein or,
b) Part of a team of researchers
The age of individual contribution is nearing an end.
