Hi. I have a late 2008 unibody MacBook. My manufacturer number found in the Color LCD settings area is 00009C8B.

Is there any way to determine what type of display it is and what company manufactured it? Is it a TN display?

Specifically, I want to know if the screens in the mid 2011 MacBook Air 11.6" are superior or inferior to my display.

Thank you!

For what it's worth, the screen on the new 13" Air is significantly better than the late 2008.

To be honest, the late 2008 screens seem to be the lowest quality out of any MacBook released since that time.

Around February 2009, the MacBook 5,1 started shipping with the same quality displays that were found on the following MacBook Pros.
