C'mon Apple! Release H and V-positioning in a software update or something! - This feature should solve our screen alignment issues (unless of course, you're one of the really unlucky ones that got stuck with a monitor that was physically misaligned).

This is an LCD, not a CRT. You can't just do that with an LCD.

I'd take it back to the Apple Store if you are bothered by the black border.

I don't consider it an issue, though. It's not like the image is being cut off or anything.

You're right, the image isn't being cut off.. But still, I think the screen should be centered.

I'm going to consult with an Apple Genius today to see what they have to say about this.

I just hope they have 15" Antiglare MacBooks in stock so they can give me an exchange right there on the spot.. not really looking forward to playing the shipping game for the next few weeks.

Thanks for that tidbit Kilamite, I had no idea that you couldn't adjust the positioning on an LCD screen. (haven't had a reason to even try.... all my other LCD/LED screens are centered)

Anyhow, I'll be visiting the Apple store shortly.

Update - Spoke to a Genius on Saturday.. He told me that since I had placed a CTO (custom order) that they would not be able to swap my laptop in the store.. and that I would instead have to call Apple and arrange to have this laptop shipped back before they could send me a new one.

Called Apple and tried to convince the Customer Service Rep to ship me another MacBook Pro before sending this one back, she refused..

Considering that some of you have had such bad luck (receiving 3 and 4 MacBooks with the same problem or worse) I've decided to just live with this one. Like JTToft said, "It's not like the image is being cut off or anything."

JTToft, can you post pics of your screen? Just curious as to how far off-center it is..

- Sure. I have attached six pictures showcasing the "problem". Four in this post, and the last two in the next post.
The screen is 1 mm too far to the left.
