Does the Unibody Macbook Pro have a accelerometer like the Ipod Touch? And is there a switch or button to quickly turn wifi off to save battery power?

It does. It has an accelerometer built in to detect if the notebook has been dropped so it locks the hard drive platters to prevent data loss.

It sounds like you're a new Mac user. There's no switch to turn off wifi. On the top right of the menubar, there's an icon in a striped triangle shape with the top rounded and the pointy side down. You can click on it to turn on and off the wifi.

Hope it helps.
