Unibody macbook pro's can support 12.5mm Drives

Thanks for the thread! Not sure why people are freaking out about it like that. Seems kind of crazy imho. The OP seems to not have any bad intention. Folks stop tearing the poor guy to shreds for no reason!
 
Jesus, some of you guys need to chill out. All the OP did was say that he tried a 12.5mm drive in a few different macbooks, and they fit. You know most people are not going to just make that up and say that it fits for no reason. If you don't want to believe him that's fine, but don't bash him unless YOU have PERSONALLY tried it for yourself, and it DID NOT work. If you have information to dispute what he is posting, by all means post it. However, don't bash him because a "Higher Publication" hasn't posted the same information.

-salivating at the thought of how much uhmm... "DATA" that a MBP 13" can hold with a the new WD 1TB drives. I'd be interested in their performance though as they seem to spin a little slower than the WD 500gb Blue's

Where did you read that it spins slower than the 500GB Blue? I thought it'd spin the same but only off of 2 platters...
 
On a related note...

Does anyone know if a 12.5mm drive will fit in any of the optibay drive replacement options out there? MCE Optibay or MaxUpgrades MaxConnect optipay for unibody MBPs?

I'd like to put two 1TB drives in my late '08 15" MBP (with removable battery).

Would love to have 2TB of space on a laptop! 😀
