Anybody experienced this with a new Unibody MBP:

Insert a FW800 cable attached to a 500GB lacie drive, and... Ping MBP is off, no shutdown, no crash, just off, instantly...

If i do it under battery power it wont start up untill i plug in the power again.

It happens when the drive is turned off or on, but not if the FW cable is not attached to the drive at all.

Haven't a chance to test it with other drives yet but will.

Doesn't seem good.

This happens when wires get shorted, it may be the drive or the cable. The same thing happens when the [+] and [-] get shorted on a USB port. The computer just shuts off without warning to prevent damage.
