I must be lucky. I've had my MBP for about 6 weeks, used for hours at a time, and the fan hasn't come on once. I have the SSD, and it is so quiet, it's kinda weird. But wonderful. I just wish I had known they were going to double the SSD size so quickly. Oh well, I still love it.

unless I'm mistaken your fans are always on, running at 2000rpm.
they only ramp up when you work the computer hard.

mstout, how do you know the fans haven't come on? Have you installed any apps that allow you to monitor fan speed? The likelihood is that your fans are on, but probably running around 2k rpm, just as pittster stated. :)

I love these posts. The SECOND you turn your MBP on, the fans spin up to 2000rpm. You can barely hear them, though, but they're ALWAYS running.
