Unidentified Black plug in 3.1?

My Mac Pro 3.1 has this black plug with cable connected to the logic board(see attachment photos) I don't know what this is or what it is for. It's not present in my 1.1 MP. Anyone know?

That is a power cable for a video card. Some video cards need more power than the slot alone can provide.
