I've heard uninstalling Leopard and then re-installing can save me some HD space...how should I go about uninstalling OS. first time mac owner, bytheway.

Congrats on your mac! 🙂

What you can do is start up from the Leopard CD, by restarting with the disk inserted and holding down the 'C' button on your keyboard.

Choose Erase and Install, and click the Customize button to unselect anything you think you don't need - such as additional fonts and languages, or some printer drivers.

Hope this helps!
