Uninstall iphoto 09 and install iphoto 08, best way

I hate iphoto 09 and would like to go back to the previous version, can I simply drag 09 to the trash then re-install 08 from the install disks.

Running 10.6.2 by the way.

If you've accessed your photos with iPhoto 09, then even if you install iPhoto 08, it will not be able to read the iPhoto library from iPhoto 09.

That's OK. I have a copy of the iPhoto 08 library and have not added any new photo's to 09 yet.

I'd worry that iPhoto has stuff it depends on that are not part of the app that you see in the applications folder. Specifically I'd worry about something hidden.

Like what? All I need is the contents of the originals folder contained within the iPhoto package. Thats all that matters to me. So by that I think I have answered my own question but I am intrigued to what you are implying.

id leave iphoto and use picasa, just to be on the safe side.
