uninstall parallels

Sorry if this is a noob question but I want to use vmware instead of parallels but I dont know how to get parallels off my system. Is there a way or can I just like drag it into the trash like all other apps? How do I uninstall it?

Just drag it to the trash.

Also if you've installed an OS in Parallels, the image should be (if memory serves) at ~/Library/Parallels

You might just Spotlight your computer for Parallels after you delete the App.
