Step 1: Install iFile from Cydia.
Step 2: Go to / (the first directory where you cannot go any farther deep into the filesystem.
Step 3: Go to /Applications.
Step 4: Find pangu.app and delete it.
Step 5: Reboot.

Wondering if there might be a downside to deleting it.

Well with the 1.0.1 installer, you had to perform the update to 1.1 with the Pangu app. That update wasn't on Cydia. But does seem all future updates will be available, so shouldn't be issue.
