Is it possible to uninstall Apple Music?

Wifes' laptop running Catalina 15.4 apparently and randomly starts Music. She has no interest in this piece of software, nor interested in signing for any accounts with Apple.

Re-installing the system might be a solution to 'repair' this anomalous behavior; she wants the software removed full stop.

I told her I would look into what I can do if anything.

Anyone have a clue?

You can delete the Music app from Terminal in Recovery
Code:
rm -rf /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Applications/Music.app
It might be reinstalled by a future update.

Hmmm, not everyone's system drive is labeled 'Macintosh HD'...

Definitely take extra care when using the rm command with the -r(ecursive)f(force) options - if the path you give it is wrong you might delete something you never intended to. Also this stuff doesn't go into the trashbin for easy recovery and it won't ask you to confirm either.

In my opinion it's better to cd 'into' the Music.app (it's just a folder on the directory level anyway) and run rm from inside there, then change back into parent directory and delete the remaining and now empty folder via rm ./Music.app
