Is it a good idea to uninstall GPU drivers before installing new ones? Are there any side effects of just updating overtop of current drivers? There seems to be a problem where normal ATI drivers don't work with the 6750m, but if I install previous drivers and then update, I can get the current 11.6 drivers. (wow I said "drivers" a lot :D )

If you have been stuck with the 11.1 Apple drivers, there is a large jump between driver versions. I would recommend uninstalling drivers via the AMD Install Manager and then uninstalling the actual card from the Windows Device Manager. Then, Scan For New Hardware, and wait while Windows adds your card as a "Generic VGA Adaptor." Reboot, and install your driver packages.
