unistalling an application?

Most apps can be removed by just trashing them, but some do leave some hidden files (e.g. demos, etc).

I know the question sounds silly but its actually legit if you figure he is coming from Windows.
With windows you have to do the whole "add/remove program" thing. When I first got my Mac I didnt think it was that easy as to just drag the program to the trash can or Command + delete.

I use appcleaner. It's freeware and is available on macupdate.com. Here's the link:

It removes preference files and other files that are not generally deleted when placing an app in the trash can. It allows you to view which files will be deleted in advance.
