launching app first time

Launching updated app (several times) and "...please sign out and sign in again." comes up. What's that about?

I received that the first time I opened the app after it updated. I signed out, and then signed back in. I haven't received that message thus far. So, stupid question for you: did you sign out and then sign back in? Tap the three bars at the upper left corner to bring up the menus; "sign out" is listed under the "Mileage Plus" header.

If the message continues to pop up, I suppose you could try to uninstall and then reinstall the app. Worst-case scenario, it may indicate that there's some problem with your account on United's end.

How did you guys get it working with Passbook? I flew twice and both times I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get my tickets into Passbook.

Passbook just tells me to download the United app which I did, and I signed in and checked in with the app, no dice, wtf?

Maybe it's US only? Since I am flying from Canada..

You had to check into the flight then view the boarding pass on the app. There was a "Add to Passbook" button to add it. It was an extra step to add it and it wasn't automatic but once there it was nice because Passbook would automatically increase the brightness when opened which makes scanning the app nice.

I hope that they maintain Passbook support. I had the opportunity to use it recently, and it was wonderful.
I tested it during a flight over the weekend. Adding boarding passes to Passbook after check-in still works the same as before.

The new interface is slightly confusing, but it may be just a matter of getting used to it (the old one wasn't very intuitive either). I like the "cards" on the home screen, but the flight status and reservation cards need links to the detailed information to get quick access to seatmaps, upgrade lists etc.. It is confusing that sometimes the "back" button doesn't actually take you back where you came from.

They seem to have improved their push notifications since I last used it (not sure if it's the app or a server-side improvement). I received notifications about a flight delay very quickly, where it used to be slower than another travel app I'm using.

One minor bug: After my flight I now have a badge with "1" showing on the United app icon, even though I have cleared all notifications and deleted all cards. I see no way to get rid of it short of reinstalling the app.
