Flew United in April on a brand new A321neo and it's wonderful even with a slight delay.
UA is retrofitting all of their planes with their new "signature interior" like what is on the new Neo you flew. It also comes on the new 737's and will eventually be rolled out across the fleet. People like to have screens at their seats.

My flight routine is nap, eat, nap, eat. It prevents me from being exhausted when I get off the plane. I would never want to watch video unless I had to stay awake for some reason.
Everyone has their own jet lag prevention routine that works for them. On my 16-hour flights to Southeast Asia, I often resort to watching at least maybe 1 movie

For some reason the vibration and sounds of airplane engines combined with a dimly lit cabin have me out like a light. It’s usually the best sleep I ever get. Maybe when I was a baby my mom drove around at night till I fell asleep 😂

I was on Singapore Airlines a few weeks ago and they also had most Apple TV+ shows available.

Sure having the screen there increases weight and cost use it or not. Most of the time I just have the live mapping on or meal order/live TV (if available), I also flew Alaska recently on their 737-9 MAX and no screen at all.

God I hate United Airlines. All my worst experiences with booking, checking in, in flight service, baggage handling, the flight itself, wait times, cancellations, the list goes on & on, but all of them were with the same 1 Airline. United (in their distaste for their customers) Airlines. I refuse to fly them ever again. In fact I try to avoid most American carriers. With the exception of Alaska, JetBlue & Southwest. I’m fond of British Airline, KLM for now. We’ll see where my travels take me… ✈️ 😉

Win for customers. It might benefit Apple too. Some may decide to subscribe to TV+ after watching couple of episodes on the flight.
