They high-key deserved to be fined even more. If they had actual penalties they’d be more careful with customer data.

The current CEO needs to be fired and they need to bring John back as the CEO ASAP

What a joke. T-Mo has a breach what seems like every other month and they get nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Add another 0 to this and then maybe they will fix their swiss cheese security. Until the higher ups also get fined/jail time, nothing will change.

Maybe a class action suit will net us each .37 cents. Seriously though, I don't and never would use T-Mobile anyway.

Great, $60 million to CFIUS, $0 million to the people actually harmed. Fines are becoming cash cows for the other entities. That fine will not be paid by T-Mobile, but by the users through increased rates. The CFIUS effectively fined the users.

If you read the subtext of the CFIUS statement, it’s pretty clear, to me at least, that their “concern” and “investigation” have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with any harm felt by victims of the T-Mobile breach. I don’t think that CFIUS gives two craps if the fine is passed on to T-Mobile customers. Or if people have had their financial information or identity stolen.
