iPad Universal „back/forward“ swipe gestures?

does iPadOS have universal „go back/go forward“ one-finger swipe gestures like iOS (swipe inwards from left or right screen edge?

But on iPads the UI is different, you have access to the categories in the left-hand side of the screen. No, if you go to Settings-General-Storage and go to an app, you can’t swipe back to General from the app. You can on iPhones though. I assume that’s what you mean? I had never noticed that! I’m accustomed to hitting the button on the top left on iPads and only swiped back on iPhones.

Do you mean navigation between apps or within apps?

As Learjet mentioned there are back and Forward guestures in Safari. I wish you could disable them as they are too easy to trigger when scrolling. A fast scroll action, if it deviates just a little from vertical will be interpreted as a swipe back and suddenly you have left the page you were on. This is particularly odious on infinite scroll pages.

You absolutely can swipe back to a different app.

To try, open an app from the home screen, swipe up on the bar at the bottom to go back to the home screen. Open another app. Now, instead of swiping up on the bar at the bottom, swipe left to right. It'll take you back to the app you had open prior.

The nice thing is that it is not limited to just the most recent app. You could swipe and move back 2 or 3 apps. That makes it more flexible.
