universal grid spacing?

Hello, all.
Brand new to Leopard.
Dig the new option tho change grid spacing in the finder.
Is there a way to get the grid spacing universally applied?
I changed the desktop and a finder window or two, but I want ALL of the finder windows to conform to the same spacing. And snap-to-grid.
Help?

Whoop.
Just found that "use as defaults" button.
But I still have to go through all of the windows/folders that are already organized and at least tell them manually to "organize by name/kind".
Weird.
