In a separate thread, I wrote that my mini will not boot into single-user or safe mode. To date, I have stumped everyone. Here's my question: if I can't boot in single-user mode, is there anything I can do in terminal to diagnose and fix my disk?

You could try Disk Utility first and run a repair disk on it. There is also Terminal under the utilities menu, although I've never tried to run fsck from Terminal on the install disc.

I have run Disk Utility and verified the disk (it passed). I also fixed permissions. I've even run Disk Warrior 4.2. Nothing has made a difference. It takes quite some time to boot up, but other than this my machine is working fine. I don't know if I am worrying about nothing or sitting on a timebomb that will lose all my work. That's why I'm wondering what can be done in Terminal.
