unknown service icon in title bar

so I'm in bed looking at macrumors and there is this blue square with a white circle in the center instead of the edge or 3G logo next to my service. I've included a sreenshot. Any one know what it means?

That's the symbol for GPRS.

Yeah, I saw that symbol yesterday when I was in a big building where service was pretty low.... it was only there for a second or two though when the 3G logo came back.
