20 dollar voice plan? wow. What's the plan limit?
[doublepost=1459828938][/doublepost]

Well google Fi is pretty cheap - 20 bucks base plan and 10 bucks per gig. No contracts. I can just pop in a sim card and boom. Free of ATT with no ETF if I leave now.

ATT is forcing people off the unliited plan - but in the next year or two- data is gonna be included in for personal use for 50 bucks. right now- avg plans probalby run 70- they'll be down to 50 at the rate things are going.
In my opnion. Google fi is very limited.

1. You are limited to nexus devices
2. At minimum u probably looking at $20 plus $10 (1gb data). Plus $10/gb.

What's the point for Google fi (which uses sprint/T-Mobile network) Cricket wireless (att) has 2.5gb for $35/month taxes inclusive.

Most of use on att (Verizon) have work discounts.

My total bill (inclusive of taxes) even after the $5/price increase and even losing the subsidy for 3 lines with ATT (2 of them unlimited and one flip phone line) is $150.

So if I got rid of then flip line ($13 after taxes).

2 unlimited lines plus unlimited calling is $137/2 lines no subsdidy. All taxes includes (I get a 24% FAN discount)

We use between 8-12gb of data each month. So not extreme data users.

But it will still be hard for me to find a similar plan even with cheaper T-Mobile which has less coverage than ATT.

I do also have direct tv. So can always opt for their unlimited data package as well instead of my grandfathers plan

I agree that tethering is a nice benefit, as is the one month rollover data.

I gave up my unlimited plan in December when I got my 6s plus. I was only using a few hundred MB per month, so it really wasn't worth it. Tethering is really nice, I live in a rural area and my DSL connection goes down from time to time. So I just connect my MBA to the phone when that happens. And even with the weak 2 bar LTE signal, it's about twice as fast as my slow Verizon DSL.

I got the 2gb plan and the most I have used in a month is about 1gb so far. Then about a week ago, with no warning or apparent reason, AT&T doubled my plan to 4gb at no additional cost. So I should be all set for awhile now, and am saving a lot on data charges. :)

The only way to get out of contract etf free is to port out to another carrier.
If you change plans and stay on AT&T or the 2 months passed by since your price increase then you will still be tied up for the rest of your contract period.

Billing dispute also works.

Fi works with an Iphone you just dont' get all the carrier switching that you would with a 6p. It sticks you on Tmobile and yah stay there. It's 20 bucks unlimited talk/text and 10 bucks per gig. Super simple

I'm thinking if I drop down to the 19.99 200 minute plan + 35 unlimited data plus work discount - then I just use google voice for calling that should be the trick.

bascially 55 bucks for unlimited data * a 13% work discount.

Yup. Also have a $10 Unlimited Text with Mobile to any Mobile retentions feature. Was normally $20 when it was available.

I just went to the 20 voice plan and am using google hangouts for call and wifi calling. I mostly use this phone for data anyway. If I were gonna do a text plan I'd bet they have a mini text plan too for like 5 bucks- they did offer the 10 unlimited text but i dont use for it for texts.

So with unlimited voice I'm at $55 and I get a 13% discount so I'm under $50 a month. I predict in a year ATT wil go back to offering unlimited data to new users (excluding tethering still) for $50 bucks "unlimited" for all. Tmobile cutting prices too fast.

I was able to get out of contract and go month to month due to the price increase of the grandfathered UDP, other than that, the old plans really are not much attractive anymore due to no subsidies.

I am paying $40 for unlimited talk, $35 for unlimited data and $10 for unlimited text and have a 28% discount on that. So after taxes I come to $73 per month, I could have dropped to the $20 200 minute plan as I don't talk more than 150 each month but I would hate to have to deal with overages on an off month.
