#1 How much does an adapter cost, and where can I buy it at?
#2 Would I be able to borrow a friend of mines iPhone 2g that they currently use and do this?

Dude. its REALLY simple. Do not buy a microsim.

Just take the original sim from the 2g phone and make markings (the markings are from using my iphone 4 sim over top the 2g sim)

I just taped my microsim into the sim card slot of the original iphone. worked perfect.
