In case anyone missed the Keynote today, unlimited HSKV is coming with iOS 15 using a paid subscription called iCloud + and again, it won’t count towards your iCloud storage capacity.

This is huge!

Always said I would pay for that functionality. Better than paying a third party for their cloud storage.

I was happy to see the announcement and will be adding new HSKV cameras once they begin releasing newer versions. It should be awesome

This is the only thing of use to me with the snooze-fest of updates they’ve just announced. I do you have to give them a credit though with not increasing the price and unlimited cameras. I will certainly be investing in some more now.

I thought the exact same. Only other thing I was excited about is the revamped Apple Watch Home app. Everything else was pretty uninspiring.

Good point, unfortunately as they were showing that bit someone came to my front door so I missed it. But let’s be honest they couldn’t possibly make the current home app any worse. It is absolutely dreadful and a complete abortion of an app. Here’s hoping the new one is substantially better.

It’s an embarrassment on the Apple Watch the way it is now. All the motion sensors show as favorite tiles since they included that top status row and extremely slow to update. I didn’t see anything new for the iPhone app. Needs some serious automation overhauls and such but thank goodness for third party HomeKit apps until Apple gets their heads out of their asses.

I'm also excited to see how "Thread" or "Matter" effects the video camera companies and what newer models will be released. I'm due for numerous outside camera upgrades.

I really wanted to like the Logi Circle View when it came out. I had quite a few Circle 2’s previously but the five camera cap turned me off from it along with other HSKV only cameras. I stocked up on a bunch more old stock Circle 2’s this way I can use their app and HomeKit at the same time. Boy do I regret that now lol. At least the Circle 2 supports HKSV but I also like having the latest and greatest.

I’m really excited for Matter but there isn’t much info out there about it. Will it require new hardware? Are all devices that can now be used on Alexa and Google be able to integrate into HomeKit via firmware update? Can they be used simultaneously in multiple smart home platforms? Google announced the Nest Thermostats getting Matter integration but what’s up with all their other accessories? I fear this will be even more convoluted than it is now.

I could take or leave Thread. There’s a lot of hype around it but rollout is seemingly slow and there needs to be an app that maps and outlines out how the devices are working in the thread network together. I have several HomePod Minis in my house but what are they doing with regards to Thread? One of them needed a reboot last night because it went offline for no apparent reason lol.
