unlock iphone 3gs 4.0.1?????

ok i'm curious as how to do this

can you first of all unlock 3gs 4.0.1?
and if so how??

i have never had to unlock an iphone but i was wanting to do it as my iphone is simlocked to orange and i was want to use tethering and mywi on 4.0.1

can i do all of the above on my orange contract or is it best to unlock to other networks?

which do you recommend ?

i done a bit of research into this and it seems a got one of the answers i was looking for
my bootloader is the new one 359.3.2
so i will have to wait

but am i best staying with my simlock or unlock it (when software is available) so that i can tether?
