It's not possible yet. If it were, I would already have my jailbroken unlocked iPhone 4 on eBay so I can buy a factory unlocked one for a small loss that will never depend upon a jailbreak.

What no one has bothered to ask you yet is what modem firmware version is currently on your phone. Everyone is assuming it's an unlockable version. Only you know for sure. Why don't you post the version number.

I totally agree with you. Baseband is determined whether Iphone can be unlocked or not. Except Iphone 4 with baseband higher than 01.59 can't be unlocked. 3G & 3GS with currently baseband can be update to Ipad baseband and unlock with ultrasn0w.

Don't all iPhones 4 w/ 4.2.1 come w/ new bb?

Judging by his question I dont think he did preserve his baseband from 4.0.2 and below towards 4.2.1
He's obviously on stock 4.2.1 with the latest baseband and he cannot unlock it at the moment.
Simple.

help me out

I have a iphone 4 that my friend brought from Canada. I am in India right now. And want to use it here with a local sim card . It is locked on Rogers (Canada provider). My iphone 4 iOS is 4.2.1 and the baseband is 03.10.01. Tell me what to do?

Maybe soon after 4.3 release but for now there is no unlock as others have said. Dev-team has said they will release a updated ultrasn0w when 4.3 comes out.

Since your title was deceiving sorry I have to rub this in.....

I have an unlock iPhone 4 with 1.59 baseband and a 4.2.1FW!

Looks like @swoosh has turned this thread into a "one up" thing

Actually the OP could actually have up to 4 hashes saved also depending on when he received his phone and when or if he bothered to read about jailbreaking/TinyUmbrella (however, reading the gist of the thread, I will concede it is unlikely the OP has done so)

And @swoosh, many of us have 8 hashes saved for our iPhone4 iDevices (and I agree it is great to have them for those catastrophic restore situations) :)

I only started saving my blobs (five) starting with 4.0.1; when you get your phone a couple of months after the release date, these things happen.
When someone can't even find their bb, I give up any hope that they had the foresight to save their blobs.
Is it that hard to find the bb? Before I knew what the bb was, I knew where to look for it because the numbers looked similar to the ones I saw in the about section of the settings menu. If you don't have an innate curiosity, jb/unlocking is going to be that much harder.

Just to be sure guys, I have a Iphone 4 version 4.2.1 and baseband: 03.10.01 is this still unlockable?

I want to swap from AT&T badly but don't want to loose my Iphone.

Saying that an iPhone4 4.2.1 is locked to AT&T, isn't it possible to use SAM to activate that iphone for T-mobile?
or there's is no way to activation b4 unlock?
