Unlock Mac from Apple Watch (and iPhone?)

Is the feature to unlock your Mac with Apple Watch limited to that device or does this feature also apply to iPhone?

I believe they mentioned in the keynote that it would work with the iPhone as well. Though I have $20 bucks on it being limited to newer systems that have BT LE.
