I have an old iPhone 5 S that still has about 11 months left on the contract. For no good reason, I asked ATT to unlock it and they approved the request with instruction to complete the unlock.

I bought an IP7 for full price from Apple, understanding that it would be unlocked from the get-go. Other than their word (Att), I don't know if the phones are unlocked or not. Wondering if there is a website that can tell if a phone is unlocked?

Also, for no good reason at the moment, can I put the sim card from the 7 into my 5S and thus, make the 5S work with the telephone number of the 7?

Full price from Apple = unlocked.
So swap sim cards and rock both phones. If the 5S is unlocked now, sell it (if you want) and pay off that contract.
