I am in NYC at the weekend. Is there anywhere an unlock service? I would pay to get my iPhone unlocked!

Are you using 1.02 firmware? If so, just check newyork.craigslist.org and search fo 'iphone unlocking' under sales. There are lots of people doing it for a fee. But why don't you do it yourself? It really isn't difficult if you follow the instructions over at modmyiphone.com.
