First of all I need to start off by saying I'm not lazy, maybe ignorant, but not lazy...I read the sticky about Quickpwn and did google searches to try to figure this out but nothing completely answered my questions.

Here's my problem, I travel a lot and I'm trying to avoid roaming charges. I would really like to use my iPhone 3g (3.1.3 fw, never before jb) instead of calling from a pay as you go and having a 200$ contact directory...That seems a bit ridiculous to me...

    So onto the question...

If I jailbreak with spirit and unlock with ultrasn0w can I just buy a really cheap go-style phone wherever i am, take out the SIM card, pop it into my iPhone, and make calls and avoid At&t's annoying roaming charges? Also, is there anyway to bypass data roaming charges so i can check my email too? Or am I better off switching to another provider that isn't run by money hungry cheats? (once their 2 year death contract is lifted of course)

    Thanks guys.

Yes, u can jb with spirit and unlock with ultraslow.
You can avoid data roaming by connecting to wifi instead.

    Alright awesome.

But if i don't have wifi, then there's no way to use the internet? Nothing on cydia for that?

How do you expect to use the internet but not get charged when you're roaming? Thats not possible, what would cydia do give you free internet?
    Think about it?

You answered all your questions by yourself. If you switch to a PAYGO simcard, all charges will be on that sim and not on your AT&T sim. If the PAYGO sim doesn't include data for checking your email or the web, then the only possibility is through WiFi. There is no way for AT&T to charge you if you're not using their sim card in the phone. I thought that would be obvious.

I am thinking, that's the problem, I'm over thinking it haha. I don't pretend to know how to hack or anything but piggybacking off of someone else's internet or using a tower for free seems possible to me...And i was just wondering if someone had made a program to do that yet on cydia, that's all.
