Unlock with Apple Watch had been working fine during the beta but when RC came out I started having issues with it either taking a long time to unlock or not unlocking at all. This happened more frequently with when 14.6 came out.

I was off yesterday and thought I'd do a back up and restore to see if that helped any. It broke the whole thing. Now when I go to turn it on I get an error stating iPhone is Unable to Communicate with Apple Watch.

Does anyone else have any idea how to get this going? I've done a backup and restore on Apple Watch a couple of times and I'm backing up iPhone again to try it one last time before I go back to work. I've searched but most of the results I'm getting are for unlocking Mac with Apple Watch.

Idk but it works about 95% of the time for me when I remember to have WiFi on? I personally keep WiFi off because I rarely use WiFi. But I have been keeping it on for this feature and I noticed sometimes it says needs to be closer to the watch.

 Why? Just because you don't connect to a WiFi network does not mean WiFi is not used for other things. And it does not affect your battery in any meaningful way. Stop turning things off just to turn them off.

I got it working! I’ll explain later but update your profiles… if you’re on the beta. If you’re not, I’m not sure.
