Wasn't that the trick that was used with some earlier version of IOS? If what you say is true I can't imagine Apple not knowing about this since they corrected it way back when.

I thought the same thing too until I realised my thumb was resting over the touch ID button by habit. Take note of that and move your thumb and I bet it won't work.
