I would have done it right away, except that it says 5-20 business days. That seems like quite a while to wait. Any way to get your money back if they don't follow through?

according to pretty big names in the iPhone unlock/jailbreak world they are legit, including Musclenerd

----------

would this be legal

it's legal on our end obviously, probably not on theirs lol, they basically add your unique IMEI to an Apple whitelist list of officially unlocked phones, however once the phone gets unlocked it will never re-lock itself again... that's at least a good guarantee

----------

Yes, I wouldnt mind $50-60 but $185-200 that some places charge is not worth it IMO.

ditto that price is outrageous, most of their customers are probably overseas people with ATT phones with no hope for a hack or an unlock, or are tired of battery drainage with Gevey...

They have no way to offer that guarantee.

It's possible that Apple could identify the source of these unauthorized unlocks and automatically reverse the unlock(s).

I realize they are legit. I also realize they outsold themselves heavily last time. So my question still stands. Is there a way to get your money back if they don't follow through?

Also not sure why my question would get downvoted. Oh wait, this is Macrumors. Never mind!

it is possible but it hasn't happened.

for a hefty price that is! $184.99 according to musclenerd the service is legit, it used to work last year till "someone" found out...apparently the service is back and operational

Apollo,

On one hand you hope I get stuck with a locked phone. On the other hand you say how to unlock it. Do you always speak from both sides of your mouth?

Yes, I have a cousin in Europe that was using an AT&T iphone 4 unlocked with Ultrasnow on 01.59.00 baseband and he updated to official 5.0.1 when it was out. Now he's SOL.
For that situation I could see it cause he's stuck with an expensive ipod touch for now.

Pricy, but it sounds like the only way to take an existing AT&T phone and permanently unlock it, at least for now.

Now, I wish AT&T would unlock the iPhone once off contract.... Like every other phone they sell except the iPhone.

Is the cost worth it.... Not for me, at least if I am in the US, as the only other gsm carrier available does not support 3G on the iphone... This would be worth it if I was going to use the at&t phone with international sims though.

Just wanting to let everyone know that I purchased this moments ago for my AT&T locked iPhone 4S. I travel occasionally and I hate to use my old Nokia backup as my international phone. iPhone 4S is a world phone, I think that it should be 'free' from any locked carrier.

I will keep this thread posted when I got update from cutmysim.com. Cheers

I look forward to hearing how it goes for you. It's expensive, to be sure, but I totally agree with you. And, it's still cheaper than buying a factory unlocked phone from Apple. Keep us posted, and good luck to you!

please post back in a couple days with your results!

As of today, there is still no update from cutyoursim.

Appreciate the update. I think it might really take up to 2 weeks for this one, so we're really looking forward to around mid to late March and see if you really got the unlock.
