I like macfrik also purchased this service. I had to be one of the first 20 to purchase as I found it soon after it was tweeted. I will update when I get a email from CutYourSim. I also will be able to tell if Apple's system shows it as I have access to it. Thanks

I haven't gotten anything back from them yet. They say it is a Money Back Guarantee so...

I ordered on Feb 29th....so should be done by the end of next week hopefully.

Pricy, but it sounds like the only way to take an existing AT&T phone and permanently unlock it, at least for now.

Now, I wish AT&T would unlock the iPhone once off contract.... Like every other phone they sell except the iPhone.

Is the cost worth it.... Not for me, at least if I am in the US, as the only other gsm carrier available does not support 3G on the iphone... This would be worth it if I was going to use the at&t phone with international sims though.

I still think the FCC should step in and force ATT to unlock after the contract is up. If you were leasing the equipment it would be fine but you are not, you are buying it and for them to hold you hostage on a phone that you outright own is a joke. If you sign a 2 year and you end early then you pay a prorated price just like you do for every other phone out there. And for them to say they can't do it is a LIE a BOLD face LIE, other mobile companies are able to unlock after the time period is up.

Refunded

Just writing to let the group know that I just got a refund from cutyoursim saying that the unlock service for at&t network just went offline and therefore the service couldn't be completed.

I think that cutyoursim is legit and they just don't have the service anymore, I asked some of my friends that bought unlocking service for their iPhone 4 last year and they still have their unlocked iPhones until now, even after Apple replaces them with a replacement model, they still unlocked. My conclusion is that we are out of luck this year, since they didn't control the service (they take it from other supplier). It is so unfortunate, I really want to get my at&t iPhone unlocked, at&t is so greedy they won't unlock your phone even after your contract expires :(

I hope you get your refund already rw3.

Cheers
