unlocked 3gs at 3.1.2(7D11) what can i update to

this is what ive found, so i think im on untethered settings/ but not sure if it's new or old boot rom??

Do you know if your phone is factory unlock or unlock by using software?

If you have Cydia on your phone, can you open it and see if your phone has SHSH save?

Don't wasting money for those companies providing unlock service!
 
You can also use tiny umbrella to d/l your blobs. Whichever blobs you have, you can install those iOSs. You likely have a software unlock. You'll have to use pwnage or the windows equivalent to keep your unlock. You can never install an iOS from itunes, because you'll lose your software unlock.

The reason I ask whether op's phone is factory unlock or not because of the location. OP is in UK and might have puchase the factory unlock phone. Just to make sure I get the correct info before I give the next advice to op.
 
Open Cydia and see if you have shsh save or follow eastercat to download tiny umbrella and check. This is dictated which IOS you can upgrade to.

open up cydia and look at the top of the page.
It should say something like SHSH: 3.1.3 etc.....
Let us know what version if any are listed there.
There are the shsh blobs and the firmware versions you can restore to.
 
TS you never had to pay http://www.iphoneunlockuk.com they sold you free software that they never developed. such as PwnageTools from the dev team. they might have repacked it but it was ment to be free. www.Iclarified.com has many tutorials. A little reading might allow you to update for free. if it's still to complicated I suggest finding somebody local that has experience. I don't recommend feeding company's like iphoneunlockuk. (ever) have you checked with your local carrier to see if they will factory unlock it for you? what ever you do don't give those scammers more money. also you really shouldn't show your serial number too everybody I suggest you fix that.
 
it was same to mee . I`ve an iphone 3gs , 3.1.2 (7D11) i couldn`t update it to 4.0 or 4.1 just from iTunes in 4.2.1 and i unlocked it with ultrasn0w and jailbreak it with redsnow and greenpois0n

it's seen like you have very little to no knowledge about jailbreaking. So, my suggestion for you is to visit Iclarified.com, redmondpie.com and using google to search what people suggest you to use in here so you know what they are talking about.

They might get frustrated if you don't know all the terms and might abandon you after a while.
 
its been tough, and a long night - i finally selected restore to old settings and its fully updated to 4.3 !! no more cydia, no more unlock / jailbreak - the works with my original 02 card but not with the mrs vodaphone sim.

To get me out of this mess, would the phone work if i simply bought an 02 pay as you go sim for my wife???? - pls help one final time - many,many thanks :eek:

You weren't clear, did you have an official apple unlock? If not man i hate to hear an i lost my unlock story. Check your baseband version, what is it? Because you have shsh saved you can go back to any of those ios versions once you know what you are doing but the baseband cant be downgraded.
