So I'm a little confused here. I thought if I get an unlocked SIM-free iPhone 11, that means I can use a sim card from any provider in it? I'm currently using an iPhone 6S with T-Mobile, so I was planning to just take out my old sim card and put it into the new phone.

Today I went to the Apple store to check out the new phones and I asked a salesman about that. He said it depends on my carrier, and with T-Mobile I can't use an unlocked iphone. Was he correct? I don't see that mentioned anywhere on the Apple site, and does that mean I have to get a T-Mobile phone and remove the sim card it comes with in order to use mine?

I have T-Mo and am using the sim free 11 with no issues. Only thing I’ve noticed is that the phone shows up on the T-Mo website and app as an unknown device.

You can absolutely do that. I bought many unlocked iPhones and just popped in my T Mobile sim and away I went.

Awesome, thanks! Maybe the salesman didn't understand me or something.
