What do you mean no carrier branding on the box? Like on the back of the box?

Cause my ATT 16GB White 4S I bought Wed, does not have the ATT logo on the back like every other iPhone I have bought has had.

I'm sure it's locked I just thought it was weird.

Hmm you're right, I looked at my AT&T locked iPhone 4's box compared to my unlocked iPhone 4S box to come up with the conclusion. I just took at look at my other 4S (which is locked) and realized that there's no branding

I do see a difference now though. The AT&T iPhone 4S box has the ICCID marked on it (for the SIM card), while the unlocked one doesn't mention at all (which makes sense since it doesn't come with a sim card).

It's the tourists, I'm sure. Did you see the pictures of the opening at Grand Central? Plus, the 5th Avenue store was packed even when it was under construction.

People need cars to make it to the NJ stores, so they tend to be a little less crowded.

Yes, I saw the picture, they are awesome!!!

This is true. I bought mine in the Lehigh Valley store in North East PA, and it was nowhere near as crowded as the NYC stores. Mind you it was still somewhat busy due to the Christmas shopping rush.

My main pet peeve was that I had to wait in the store an hour and a half after "reserving" my phone. Especially pissed me off since walk-ins were able to get 4S's within minutes of entering. Lost a total of 4.5 hours including a 2-hour roundtrip (nearest Apple store to my house too).

They really need to streamline their shopping experience. I always hate going to Apple stores since they just feel so unorganized.

Oh, so besides for the sim being inactive, it's exactly the same as the factory unlocked version?

Technically the CDMA models are the same as well. It's just Apple being Apple will only sell their "official" GSM model AKA AT&T model as unlocked if you buy it device only.

Trust me, I've bought 5 iPhone 4S's unlocked already.

If that were the case I would be able to pop an AT&T SIM into my Sprint 4S and it would work, but it doesn't.

Did you buy the Sprint phone off contract?

The hardware is the same. But Apple doesn't unlock any iPhones intended for CDMA carriers, regardless of how you purchased them.
