Unlocked iPhone - can i do the updates?

I have an unlocked iPhone using with T-Mobile, when i sync it i i keep getting a message for a new update. Since it is jailbroken should i update? Should i never update? Love my phone...

What firmware are you using for your iPhone?


Every time you update firmwares, you will need to re-jailbreak and unlock. Backup your iPhone, and run the appropriate version of redsnow.

I bought on eBay already jailbroken so i don't know how to do it so i have been ignoring the updates when i sync to iTunes.

You can upgrade to 3.0.1 in iTunes if you REALLY want to, and then run redsn0w 0.8 and point it to the 3.0 IPSW and you will have a freshly jailbroken 3.0.1 phone. 😀
