Hey guys: There have been a lot of anxious people out there that have asked whether or not upgrading to 2.0 firmware retains the unlock state of the iPhone. Sorry if this is a duplicate thread, I did do a search. So - my story - I have an iPhone which was bought from the Apple Store in the Christiana Mall, Delaware back in September 2007. I unlocked it with AnySIM on 1.0.2, and have subsequently upgraded the firmware over the various revisions until getting to 1.1.4. As the iPhone 2.0 made its way online (via a forum on here), I thought I'd give it a shot and see if it is possible to have the 2.0 firmware on my unlocked iPhone. I can categorically stated that upgrading to 2.0 RELOCKS and jails the phone as most people expected. Meaning, no service and the ability to use any function except to make an emergency call only. I have tried this evening twice to ensure that I can go back down successfully to 1.1.4 and can. So - WAIT for the dev community to have a play with the firmware and wait a week or two. The firmware will be cracked soon!
